This is a sample “page”. In WordPress, a “page” is different from a blog “post”. Pages are meant for content that changes infrequently and is not intended to be commented on by the public. Typically, the links to your WordPress “pages” will be displayed on the horizontal top menu.
Most websites have an About page that introduces the website to potential site visitors. Your About page might say something like this:
Hi there! I’m a bike messenger by day, aspiring actor by night, and this is my blog. I live in Los Angeles, have a great dog named Jack, and I like piña coladas. (And gettin’ caught in the rain.)
…or something like this for a business website:
The XYZ Doohickey Company was founded in 1971, and has been providing quality doohickies to the public ever since. Located in Gotham City, the XYZ Doohickey Company employs over 2,000 people and does all kinds of awesome things for the Gotham community
Once your WordPress site has been set up, you can log into your WordPress account using the Login link located in the footer of the website. You will be directed to your WordPress dashboard and from there you can create pages of content as well as set up your blog categories and begin posting to your blog. Have fun!
